On October 19, the performance “FRACTUS” by Derida Dance Company will be presented as part of the 30th edition of the MASDANZA International Contemporary Dance Festival of the Canary Islands. The festival is an established international platform for contemporary dance, bringing together artists and companies from around the world every year.

The participation of the Bulgarian company is part of the international circulation of the performance “FRACTUS”, created by the choreographer and artistic director of Derida Dance Center, Jivko Jeliazkov. The piece explores processes of fragmentation in contemporary society and the possibilities for new forms of connection between people through a powerful physical stage language and visual environment.

During their visit to the Canary Islands, the Derida Dance Center team also met with festival representatives and visited the cultural center hosting part of the MASDANZA program. During these meetings, possibilities for future artistic residencies and collaboration between the two organizations were discussed, aiming to further develop international exchange and support for contemporary dance.

The participation of Derida Dance Company in MASDANZA is another step in the international presentation of the Bulgarian independent dance scene and in expanding the partnerships of Derida Dance Center with leading European and international festivals.
