The performance EX-POSE(S) was created in 2021 by choreographers Héla Fattoumi et Éric Lamoureux and consists of two 25-minute duets (one female and one male) performed consecutively. The piece is inspired by the sculptures 👉 “The Little Musician” (1937) and “The Little Spanish Girl” (1954) by Henri Laurens (Europe), and “Couple of Wrestlers” (1988) by Ousmane Sow (Africa).
To bring these duets to life and to “set these sculptures in motion”—the true starting point of the choreography and the connection between the dancers—the choreographers chose young performers from the 🌎 Arab world, from the southern coast of the Mediterranean: Tunisia, Morocco, and Egypt. This new approach to “entre-l’autre” resonates through sculpture, body, and artistic language.

Between 🗓 October 6 and 10, 2025, Héla Fattoumi et Éric Lamoureux will host two young choreographers 👉 Daniel Denev (Sofia) and Vivien Pitty (Budapest) at VIADANSE in Belfort for a period of mentorship and artistic residency. Continuing this collaboration, they will deepen their engagement with Southeast Europe and the Balkans through a regional tour of EX-POSE(S) in Sofia, Ljubljana, and Budapest, accompanied by a series of choreographic workshops.
The project is supported by the French Institutes in Bulgaria, Hungary, Serbia, and Paris, the Teatroskop program, Spedidam, and the Derida Dance Center residency program, funded by the Sofia Municipality – Cultural Events Calendar.
✨ Héla Fattoumi et Éric Lamoureux
Performers and choreographers Héla Fattoumi and Éric Lamoureux have established their own distinctive style since the early 1990s, co-signing all their works.
From Fattoumi’s homeland, Tunisia, to numerous collaborations with artists from the Maghreb and Sub-Saharan Africa, they create performances with a strong social dimension:
👉 La Danse de Pièze – on the notion of “homosensuality” in the Arab-Muslim world;
👉 MANTA – a solo exploring the aesthetics and issues of the burqa and niqab;
👉 MASCULINES – deconstructing representations of femininity on both sides of the Mediterranean;
👉 BNETT WASLA – a feminist manifesto featuring four dancers from the Ballet of the Tunis Opera.
👀 In 2015, they took the lead of VIADANSE – the National Choreographic Center of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté in Belfort, where they develop projects of cross-border and international collaboration.

La performance EX-POSE(S), créée en 2021 par les chorégraphes Héla Fattoumi et Éric Lamoureux, se compose de deux duos de 25 minutes (l’un féminin, l’autre masculin) présentés consécutivement.
Elle s’inspire des sculptures « La petite musicienne » (1937) et « La petite espagnole » (1954) d’Henri Laurens (Europe), ainsi que de « Couple de lutteurs » (1988) d’Ousmane Sow (Afrique).
Pour incarner ces duos et « mettre en mouvement » ces sculptures, véritables agents déclencheurs de la danse et de la mise en relation des danseurs, Héla Fattoumi et Eric Lamoureux ont choisi de jeunes interprètes du monde arabe, de la rive Sud de la Méditerranée : Tunisie, Maroc, Egypte. Cette nouvelle approche de «l’entre-l’autre» met en résonance des sculptures, des corps, des langages artistiques.
« Avec cette création, nous invitons le public à vivre un rapport à la danse dans une grande proximité offrant un accès sans filtre aux interprètes, aux détails, à la vibration des corps et à leur charge expressive. Le contexte de réceptivité ainsi créé stimule une expérience sensible qui intensifie la relation entre le spectateur et la danse. Constitué de deux duos, l’un féminin et l’autre masculin, EX-POSE(S) emmène le spectateur vers une sororité réjouissante pour l’un et une fraternité troublante pour l’autre.».
Par ailleurs, entre le 🗓 6 et le 10 octobre 2025, Héla Fattoumi et Éric Lamoureux accueilleront deux jeunes chorégraphes émergents – Daniel Denev (Sofia) et Vivien Piti (Budapest) – à VIADANSE à Belfort pour une période de mentorat et de résidence artistique.
Dans la continuité de cette collaboration, ils poursuivront leur engagement avec l’Europe du Sud-Est et les Balkans à travers une tournée régionale de EX-POSE(S) à Sofia, Ljubljana et Budapest, accompagnée d’une série d’ateliers chorégraphiques.
Ce projet est réalisé avec le soutien des Instituts français en Bulgarie, Hongrie, Serbie et Paris, du programme Teatroskop, de la Spedidam, ainsi que du programme de résidence du Derida Dance Center, financé par la Municipalité de Sofia – Calendrier des événements culturels.

Interprètes et chorégraphes, Héla Fattoumi et Éric Lamoureux affirment depuis le début des années 1990 une écriture à quatre mains singulière.
De la Tunisie natale d’Héla Fattoumi à leurs nombreuses collaborations avec des artistes du Maghreb et de l’Afrique subsaharienne, ils créent des pièces à forte dimension sociale :

👉 MANTA, un solo explorant les enjeux et l’esthétique du niqab (voile intégral)
👉 MASCULINES, qui déconstruit les notions de féminité des deux côtés de la Méditerranée
👉 BNETT WASLA, un manifeste féministe pour quatre danseuses du Ballet de l’Opéra de Tunis
Depuis 2015, ils dirigent VIADANSE – Centre chorégraphique national de Bourgogne Franche-Comté à Belfort, où ils développent un projet transfrontalier et de coopération internationale notamment avec les SUDS.
