Dancing Histor(y)ies YouTube Channel: a living archive of movement and memory

A memory of the tough work held by partners and dance companies has been collected and is now available on the website and social media. This channel is amazingly testifying the engagement of local partners and local people and aimed at summarizing and presenting the creative work that led to the creation of the performances, in order to enhance the valorization of Heritage through Performing Arts, Community Engagement and Territorial Development.

Today, we are opening a door into the soul of our work. Dancing Histor(y)ies has always been about more than just movement; it is about the stories etched into our skin, the memories held in our joints, and the legacies we carry forward through every step.

For months, our participants have invited us into their worlds. Through these video diaries, they have shared:

  • The Raw Moments: The quiet struggles of finding rhythm in a changing world.
  • The Triumphs: The breathtaking joy when a story finally finds its physical expression.
  • The Truth: Intimate reflections on what it means to preserve cultural heritage through the body.

History is often written in ink, but it is felt in motion. The DH YouTube Channel serves as a bridge between the past we inherit and the future we are currently choreographing. It is a testament to the fact that every body is a library, and every dance is a conversation with those who came before us.

How to watch

We invite you to sit with these stories. Don’t just watch them—listen to the breath behind the movement and the silence between the words. So, thank you to the incredible individuals who bared their souls on camera. Your courage is the heartbeat of this project.
