In ‘Forget Me Not’, we are taken on a journey where two performers explore the recesses of the human mind and its connection with the body, delving into the intersection between remembering and forgetting, exploring the ephemerality of memory and the duality of consciousness.
Leyland Kirby, best known for his acclaimed project The Caretaker, was the inspiration for the creation, as he dedicated himself to sonically interpreting the effects of time, falling into the depths of memory and consciousness, revealing the fragility of identity. In this choreographic narrative, we explore the depth of the mind and the intrinsic connection between lucidity and identity, revealing that, without the mind, the body is just a void, but in reality, what is left when memory disappears?
‘Forget Me Not’ is a work in progress of an emotional and subjective journey, through the complexity of human consciousness, giving space to the ephemerality of our own thoughts and memories, questioning where we can find meaning and connection in a world where the mind can get lost.
The project is realized within the Residency program of Derida Dance Center with the financial support of Sofia Municipality – Calendar of Cultural Events and the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture.

“False Memories” is created around the concept of the psychological mind through the perspective of 2 individuals that have an unspeakable connection with each other. In an abstract way, the feeling stays that they are one entity in their spiritual world, whether they are together or separated in physicality. Our memory is a very fragile concept. Sometimes we remember things the way we want it to be. Our imagination helps us to escape our own reality in order to find comfort or peace.
