📢 Spreading the word: partners in action
As we step into this latest chapter of our journey, the rhythm of the project is shifting from creation to conversation. We are thrilled to announce that Dancing Histories has officially entered its dissemination phase. While our collective work has been brewing behind the scenes, it is now time to share the stage with the world. This phase is all about ensuring that the insights, performances, and heritage-driven innovations we’ve developed reach the widest possible audience—from local communities to international cultural stakeholders.
The momentum is already building across our network. Some of our partners have hit the ground running, hosting initial workshops and presentations that bridge the gap between dance and historical narrative.
- Early Successes: A few partners have already initiated their local dissemination activities, sparking dialogue and showcasing the power of site-specific performance.
- On the Horizon: For others, the curtain is just about to rise. We have a robust schedule of events, seminars, and public engagements lined up for the coming months.
The fruits of our labor are now ready for your exploration.

Let’s celebrate the Dancing Histor(y)ies Multiplier Event in Portugal

On 14 January 2026, the conference Laboratórios do impossível took place at Casa Museu Dr. Anastácio Gonçalves , in Lisbon, bringing together cultural professionals from across Portugal for a full day of reflection, experimentation and collaborative learning. Designed primarily for cultural agents, the event gathered representatives from numerous institutions connected to the Rede Portuguesa de Museus , reinforcing dialogue between museums committed to social relevance, institutional transformation and new forms of engagement with communities. Through visits, conversations and collective exercises, participants explored how museums can activate the past as a living resource to imagine future practices, addressing themes such as sustainability, artificial intelligence, community work and evolving exhibition models.
A central moment of the program focused on co creation and design thinking through the European projects Dancing Histor(y)ies and Co Vision. During this session, speakers presented the methodological model developed within Dancing Histor(y)ies, highlighting collaborative artistic processes that connect heritage, performance and local communities as tools for institutional innovation. Participants were invited to actively engage with the framework, reflecting on how cocreation can reshape museum practices by fostering shared authorship and experimentation. The session concluded with an open invitation for attendees to join the growing international community connected to the project and to formalize their interest by signing a Letter of Intent, reinforcing long term collaboration and the expansion of a network committed to participatory cultural futures.
